Student stage carpenters, riggers, electricians, board operators, and sound technicians are all encouraged to apply for a Technical Internship. Tech interns are eligible for free housing and board; paid registration is required, with financial assistance available if participation creates a hardship. Interns assist with the load-in and strike of participating productions and support technical aspects of festival-produced events. It is an opportunity to work in a new-to-you venue with faculty and students from other colleges from around the region. Interns in years past have described the event as an eye-opening and awesome experience. The tech intern schedule is structured so interns may also attend conference sessions, events, and performances as an integral part of the experience.
Interns must pay the Conference Registration Fee, but housing (shared hotel room) and meals are provided by KCACTF. How to Participate To join the Technical Management internship program, please fill out and submit the Internship Application by January 5th, 2025. Be sure to submit a Program Inquiry Form and select Festival Internships/Technical Internships to be notified when the application form opens!
